Acer AOD257-13685 Review – Overview
I have currently bought an Acer Aspire One AOD257-13685 10.1-Inch Netbook (Espresso Black).
Firstly, the Acer AOD257-13685 is not a laptop, and you may look elsewhere if you need a device with capability and power of a laptop, netbooks are not laptops.
I’m very delighted with this Acer AOD257-13685, because for under $200, I can have a very uber portable, mobile wireless enabled device and I can accept that it is a netbook, so I received what I expected.
Netbooks are for users who need to have a small and light device on the way which can surf the internet, emails, download MP3s, write some documents, etc.
If I wanted something with higher specs, I would spend more and purchase a real laptop.
This Acer Aspire One AOD257-13685 performs really good, especially after I have removed the preinstalled bloatware, everything is improved.
Thinking of upgrading the memory to a 2GB too.
This Acer Aspire One AOD257-13685 is a little slow when you run two or three windows tabs multitasking at once, and it also needs a while to download a big size of a file, but I did not purchase this netbook to be a high-end specs unit, I purchased it because it is very portable and suits my basic use, so I knew these small problems before I decided to get a netbook.
Another things, you will not be able to change your desktop’s background, but it is a Windows 7 Starter, the Operating System thing, and not the Acer AOD257-13685 netbook thing.
The touchpad along with the multi-gesture feature runs really well and I have no issues with the touchpad so far at all.
The built-in webcam is not the best, but very good webcam for a netbook, it gives smooth and clear images, as well as the built-in microphone is also quite responsive.
For a netbook, this Acer AOD257-13685 also has excellent sound headphones quality, and the speakers, they are decent, eventhough don’t hope for miracles.
The LED bright screen provides a superb clear image and runs videos beautifully and smoothly.
The Acer AOD257-13685 suits my needs perfectly, although at the beginning I needed to get used to mini of everything, but the most important, this netbook fits perfectly on my handbag, it has a good appearance, and whenever I need to check emails or open a document, it takes only a few minutes.
