Acer Iconia A100 Review – Overview
I was lucky enough to get this Acer Iconia A100 since it is not yet released in Amazon or other online stores. (I got mine for $249.00)
I got mine with a 8gb hard disk, and after a couple days, I would say, getting the Acer Iconia Tab A100-07u16u 7-Inch Tablet (16GB) would be better to store more files.
The main reason why I choose this Acer A100 tablet was the 7″ screen size, as easy as that.
I like the efficient size so that I am able to take it everywhere.
The size is certainly perfect for me.
It weighs fine for me, and probably a few ounces heavier than other tablets, but I don’t really think it is problem, since I have more ports in this tablet.
The Acer Iconia A100 is a very sturdy and solid device with its aluminium backing, very well balanced and it is not too heavy to hold for extended periods, and I definitely recommend a casing for it.
Acer Iconia A100 Specs and Features
For the battery life, I don’t have any problems with battery life, for the whole day usage, I have not even used 1/2 of the battery life.
The touchscreen is a brilliant capacitive screen, very clear and crips, even when I set the brightness to lower setting. The 7″ screen is very ideal if you are often using internet, playing games or even reading ebooks on the go.
The buttons and ports placement is great on this Acer Iconia A100 tablet. The on and off buttons are placed at the top and left side of the device, easy to find and press.
On the top left of the tablet, you will find volume control, and you will also find the ports on each side, such as Micro-SD slot, USB ports, micro-HDMI port.
It is really big plus to have these USB ports and other connectivity because you will be able to transfer or load your photos and music files easily. Wi-fi and bluetooth works fine, and I found it very useful.
What I really love is the landscape viewing lock button, it is placed beside the volume control on the top.
The audio quality is good, the music playback comes with Dolby touch, overall, the built-in speakers are great.
The 5MP Rear facing Autofocus Webcam on the back and the 2MP Front Facing Webcam are really nice features for video calling, and I am pleased with the clearity of the videos and photos.
The Honeycomb (be sure you update yours to 3.1) android OS is really awesome, really easy to learn and fast to use.
When I got my tablet, I immediately charged it, and it instantly searched for network for connecting to the internet, very simple to set up, and it will automatically downloaded the latest Android Honeycomb OS.
For the apps, there are really a huge variety of apps available, to name some of the apps that I have downloaded and install, I got netflix, Kindle app, Moboplayer, and they work flawless.
Oh the Google app is great too, I really like viewing google maps, the quality is surprisingly better than my iPhone or Garmin GPS.
