ASUS A52F-XA5 Review — Overview
I have had many laptops from many manufacturers over 20 years, but this ASUS A52F-XA5 15.6-Inch Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Dark Grey) is absolutely my favorite.
Actually I had an Asus netbook before purchasing this laptop, because I could carry around all the time when I was traveling, and it did all of my computing needs while I was on the go, because it was quite small and fit perfectly in my bag.
But then, I needed a more powerful device, a laptop that can allow me working with “heavy” programs while playing a PC game, a laptop that has decent specs. And of course, I did not want to spend a little fortune to have what I wanted.
At the beginning, I had gaming laptops in my mind, I knew for sure, they definitely could handle my powerful games, and also able to handle whataver heavy software I would need to install on it.
So I decided to go to Sager and Alienware. In the end, I did not get the results I wanted. All of them wanted more bucks than I was wanting to pay, mainly with the customization. Then I found this ASUS A52F-XA5, I read its specs, and I liked it. So, I purchased it, and it is my best purchase ever.
This ASUS A52F-XA5 laptop is not perfect of course, I would like to pont out a few things.
This ASUS A52F-XA5 does not include Bluetooth, and I really wish there were some other functions keys and not just the F keys to adjust stuff, but it is not a big hassle.
The 3 hours of battery life is a little short to me, and worth mentioning, this laptop does not come with recovery disks, so I would make system copy first.
ASUS A52F-XA5 was more thin than I thought it would be, and because I always carried around a small netbook, this laptop does not feel much heavier, it feels light. My first impression is the full keyboard with its numerical pad on the right side.
It is a great feature of this laptop since I need to work a lot with numbers.
It packs Intel 1696MB HD graphic chip, that handles everything I have thrown at it with no issues so far.
I played Starcraft 2, City of Heroes, Sims 3 and Team Fortress 2 with high settings, and they run smooth without any troubles.
This ASUS A52F-XA5 laptop also works with my other softwares like a champ, its dual i5 core processor and its 6GB of RAM performs very FAST without being loud, and the most important, it manages its heat with its cooler nicely, so that I am not a paranoid of overheating my device when I am gaming.
