ASUS U30JC-XA2 Review — ASUS U30JC-XA2 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Silver)
I have had this ASUS U30JC-XA2 (ASUS U30JC-XA2 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Silver))for a week now, and so far it is a great value for what you receive and the price you have to pay. (got it at $542.04 here)
The exterior is solid, and the overall design is elegant, it does have all the ports in the right place, no extra plugs in, it performs well and also has good appearance.
Specs wise, the i5 CPU runs incredibly smooth, running my multiple tabs and windows without ever serious whining.
I frequently do multitasking with this machine, playing MP3s in the background, opening nine webpages, and working with MS. Word, pdfs open, all runs quietly.
I have also noticed the cooling fan and its 500GB hard drive perform quietly even while being used to play heavy hames for hours. It warms up awfully little.
The nVidia G310M graphic card gives more than enough for daily email usage, viewing video, playing games, anything, which is what I bought this laptop for. I have played league of legends at 60 fps without any problems.
The Optimus graphics technology (switching graphics automatically) seems to run perfectly, I played L4D2 with all the high settings and all works flawless.
Lastly, something which is of course worth mentioning, is the battery life., it really depends on how and what you are running at that time. The ASUS U30JC-XA2 comes with four power settings, but I just use high-performance as well as quiet office and I managed to get 7 hours our of this machine while using wireless for the internet and running office, with a comfortable brightness. Although that is an impressive battery life for a laptop, it was very different when I streamed videos with HD setting and full brightness, the battery life was 4 hours.
So it has an excellent battery life, and the only laptop in its category that can beat its battery life is a Macbook which is more expensive.
I usually get about 5-8 hours of heavy browsing and flash development out of it.
The only letdown is the bloatware that came with this ASUS U30JC-XA2, eventhough it was easy to uninstall them, it still took hours. (Another reviews on Asus: asus eee pc-1001px).

ASUS U30JC-XA2 Review — In Summmary
This ASUS U30JC-XA2 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Laptop (Silver) appears to be overpowered for a 13.3-inch range laptop size, and it does an amazing job not only general tasks but even intensive heavy graphic programs like playing games, or AutoCAD program which run smoothly.
To summarize, I could not be more happy with this laptop, and if you are looking for a i5 laptop with i3 price range, ASUS U30JC-XA2 is a great buy, you will not find nothing better for its price tag.
