ASUS U36SD-A1 Review |13.3-Inch Thin and Light Laptop ASUS U36SD Model

ASUS U36SD-A1 Overview

I got this ASUS U36SD-A1 laptop about 3- 4 weeks ago to replace my older desktop.

I wanted a solid laptop yet I don’t have to spend much on it (I know it too, too cheap laptops are mostly not good).

From several research I decided to choose this 13.3 inch Asus laptop.

The price tag has lowered a little bit than the day when I bought it. (got it for $869.99)

Be ware, it comes with no optical drive, it might be a downside for some people, but lacking of optical drive has not frustated me thus far.

This laptop is really thin and small, extremely lightweight, and this makes it very portable to use it on the lap or even to bring around the campus.

It has the size of a 13 Macbook Pro, but slightly heavier.

ASUS U36SD-A1 Review – Specs and features

This thin laptop is empowered by Core i5 processor, handles any applications I throw at it with no issues.

I have tried to run up to 10 programs open all at once in multiple tabs and there was no slow down problems.

The speed for starting or for shutting it down is incredible fast, it is really joy to load your applications.

I have tested many games on this ASUS U36SD-A1 with several levels and settings and eventhough some of those games can’t be played with highest setting, I really would not want to be able to, this machine is more than adequate for most current games.

There was actually another Asus laptop with higher RAM that I almost picked, but the i5 core CPU of this ASUS U36SD 13 inch laptop was what impressed me.

About the over heating or fan noise, I haven’t found any problem.

The nVidia graphics card in this machine has great quality (it fits with the price).

The LED screen is excellent and so the videos quality is also perfect. The sound is fairly ok, like most of laptop sounds, is good but not the best.

The keyboard is very good, it is probably the best keyboard I have ever used, chicklet, perfect weight, and nice selection of the additional keys, included are the pgup also the pgdn keys on the right.

The several ports are included and they are good, a USB 3.0 is a bonus, and overall the ports did feel solid when you want to insert a USB, not even flimsy like most of laptops.

Battery life is the most important laptop’s feature for me, as I am frequently on the move.

Of course, it will depend on the programs you are using, and the brightness, etc. If you run heavy programs, it will increase the energy demands.

However, I don’t have complaints with the battery life, it will just last my long train trip before I have to charge it.

This ASUS U36SD-A1 is definitely an excellent laptop, fast, good looking and definitely different.
