Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 Overview
In brief: Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 is a perfect action camera.
I have been waiting for this DSC-TX10 model, a camera that I can take with me whenever I go to the beach or go rafting with water proof feature but also can be used when I go to party or town.
I looked for a small sleek camera that I could just drop in my backpack, drop it on the sand or bring it in the sea without being worried about it.
After a few times re-checking the research between Olympus Stylus Tough 8010, the TX5, Canon 300 HS, and this camera, I decided to go for TX10 I have never regretted that decission, that’s the most important.
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 VS TX5
- The camera sold at $328.00
- The TX10 has only 1 memory slot, while the TX5 has two of them, which means it stores less images or videos
- It weighs so much lighter at 133g than the 148g TX5.
- It has extremely high screen resolution than the TX5.
- The TX10 has higher movies resolution at 1080p at 60fps than the TX5. (720p at 30fps)
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 Bad, Good Reviews and Summary
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 16.2 MP Waterproof Digital Still Camera with Exmor R CMOS Sensor, 3D Sweep Panorama and Full HD 1080/60i Video (Black) comes with a bright 25mm bright wide angle which is optically stabilized when you shoot a wider shots of a group or a scene in crowded spaces.
This camera captures on a 16.2MP “Exmor R” Sensor and an adequate 4x Zoom for impressive image clarity in a fast speed and high quality result both for pictures and movies.
This tough camera is a waterproof camera to 16 ft10 which simply means you can take it safely while snorkeling or splashing on the water. You will want to get an extra casing if you take it for diving.
My only issue is I am just worried if its slider and zoom get sand but until now, thankfully, I have got no condensation or sand slipped through since I always rinse it off in the clean water after I used it.
It is also advertised ti be shockproof to from falls up to about 5ft, but I haven’t tested to drop it!), also advertised to be freezeproof -10 degrees Celcius (Also never put it in my freezer, since I would need months to open it!).
All in all, Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 is an excellent action camera, so it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I own the TX9 which has been stellar thus far (with the exception of the flash failing and needing replacement from Sony) with excellent video quality and very good photo quality. My review of the TX10 is based on my experience with the TX9.
The camera transitioned without hesitation from the water to the beach to dinner. There were no issues with the salt water or sand and I have to say the shutter speed was lightening fast underwater and above. In fact, I would have bought this camera even if I didnt need the waterproofing but now I can take this camera to any event whether it is a concert or a vacation. The picture quality is even better than my Canon DSLR. Highly Recommend!
