Herotab C8 Review (Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor)
There are similar tablets that has many names like Flytouch 3, Dropad A7, M7 (Haipad) and Herotab C8 which are available in the market. Altogether, those tablet have the similar specs. So I did various research because I considered it was a little bit of gambling, I wanted to know what I was going to buy as it is really difficult to get better features of this Herotab C8 at this price. (sold at $154.99 here)
I own an iPod touch but I was tired of it, therefore I thought it was a point for a change. Budgets being what I looked at this Herotab C8.
Honestly, I did not expect too much, this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet comes with Android 2.2 Froyo Operating System and stated has Adoble Flash enabled.
People often expect to buy tablet pcs as an iPad alternative. I want to clarify a bit, to me, when I buy a product, I buy it on its own capability and not on how it compares to a different device, such ad iPad. Of course, this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet has its own issues. There are a few apps that can’t be downloaded and installed in this tablet, but apps are not made for all kind of tablets.
And iPad is better polished, the apps will work just well as they are developed exclusively for this device. The screen resolution is nicer as is the entire build quality.
But here is a thing to consider, to catch up in what this Herotab C8 cannot do, is just not fair. It has the half price of the used-iPad and what it can do, it does very well and at times, I was even surprised with how good this Herotab C8 is.
Eventhough for basic tablet functions and internet browsing this tablet is as smooth as the iPad, but really, Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet and iPad are two totally different products.
Herotab C8 packs and delievered with pre-installed basic apps that you will need and some of them you won’t. I just recommend replace your default browser with Dolphin HD to take advatage of the bigger display.
The Herotab C8 does a good job of playing YouTube videos, the video is smooth with a small stuttering.
I have tested a few movies in .MP4 and .AVI format, with the highest resolution at 1024 x 600 and it works well. Tried the HDMI outputting in 720p or even 1080p with upscale did look very nice on my TV. I turned off the TV’s auto detect settin, and it worked just fine.
Playing games and Angry Birds work very well, and the animation as well as graphic look great on this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 screen.
Most important and huge plus of this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 is its capacitive screen. The touchscreen is surprisingly very responsive, although you can control the sensitivity setting, but the touchscreen is very good. I am using the Dolphin for the browser and enabling the gestures to make internet browsing a breeze.
About the wifi, I had no issue setting it up, although my router is a bit far, which is upstairs and I can still easily access it downstair.
Another dream feature is the gallery, because you can sync all your images on a SD card, use your Gmail account, and you can find your picassa pictures too if you upload them to the cloud. I only wish the whole apps were that simple.
Herotab C8 has about 4-5 hours battery life, which is not too bad, and if you have it on standby, it will last much longer, about one day.
Eventhough Kindle as well as audible work fine on this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet, but this tablet weighs pretty heavy, so not one for e-book readers..
Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet has 1.3MP Front Camera which make regular skype works but no skype video yet, heard it will come soon.

Herotab C8 Review – In Summary
Overall, although this tablet has small minor cons, I still can forgive, I mean, getting this tablet for $154.99, I am not expecting an iPad, and I did not even want to compare the two products.
But if you are comparing to my iPod touch, this Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2.2 Tablet still comes about $50 cheaper and it has bigger size display with some cool apps that the iPod will only dream of.
This Herotab C8 does not have to be “beat” the iPad to be a worth value product, you just need to be sure what you’re after when purchasing.
Herotab C8 – Samsung S5PV210 1GHz Processor, 7″ Capacitive Multitouch, Android 2,2 Tablet is great value for the price.
