Remove Survey Ads Popups

by Kimi on August 2, 2010

How you can remove or get rid of  a survey advertisement popups which usually says: “Premium content, please complete one survey..” message in a website or a wordpress blog.

I personally do not recommend you to do this, because we have to respect the owner of the website to monetize their blogs. But there are cases, we did the survey and it didn’t enable us to access the content.

It has ever happened to me, i did a complete survey, by clicking the ringtone ads at that time, and it didn’t work out!

So i could not access the website’s content, eventhough i already did the survey.

So this is my tip to completely remove this annoying survey ads popups from your web page ONLY if you can’t do the survey.

The survey ads looks like.

1. If the survey does not work, copy and paste the following javascript code to your address bar of the browser. If you want to visit this page more frequently, bookmark the page which has this following code already in the browser, it will make easier and faster.

Pasting the provided code in your web browser's address bar.

The code:

javascript:(function(){(function(){var z=["Timeout","Interval"];for(var i=0;i<1;i++){var x=window["set"+z[i]]("null",1);for(var j=x;j>0&&x-j<99;j--)window["clear"+z[i]](j);}})();var gn=function(){var q=function(min,max){return Math.floor(Math.random()*(max-min+1))+min;};var n="";for(var r=0;r<q(9,19);r++)n+=String.fromCharCode(q(97,122));return n;};var tmrs=["Timeout","Interval"];var bl=[];var xc=[];for(var i=0;i<2;i++){bl.push(window["set"+tmrs[i]]);window["set"+tmrs[i]]=function(a,b){};for(var j in window){try{if(typeof(window[j])=="function"){if((window[j]+"").indexOf("function set"+tmrs[i]+"() {")!=-1)window[j]=function(a,b){};}}catch(e){}}var op=gn();xc.push(op);window[op]=bl[i];}var er=gn();window[er]=function(){window.setTimeout=bl[0];window.setInterval=bl[1];xjz={version:1.1,domain:"http://survey-remover.com/",id:"4c3e4ab2b7d6f",TO:setTimeout("alert(\"It appears that host could not be reached :(\\nPlease try to use the bookmarklet again later!\\n\"+xjz.domain);",10000)};var a=document.createElement("script");a.type="text/javascript";a.src=xjz.domain+"public/remove_survey.js";document.documentElement.firstChild.appendChild(a);};window[xc[0]](window[er],1100);})();

2. Once you hit “enter” button the successfull removal will show up (see image).

Succeeded Message.

3. Click “Ok” button, you should be able to see the content.

doesn’t work, if i use the code a popup appears and says
“You are using an old version of the Survey Remover bookmarklet!
This version will soon no longer be supported.
Please consider upgrading to remove the latest surveys!”
When I click ok, it sends me to http://survey-remover.com/addon/?source=xjz, where you can get the survey-remover addon, which you have to pay for (I cant :(

When I click cancel, it says
“No supported surveys could be found. If you believe that the survey on this page should be supported, please leave a message on the site:
http://survey-remover.com/comments/
Do you want to use the User Removal Kit (Beta) to get rid of the survey (it is a simple point and click process)?”
and
“XJZ Survey Remover – User Removal Kit:
- Point your cursor at elements which are blocking your view of the page.
- You will notice that a thick red border appears arround these elements
- Click the left button of your mouse to remove the element, allowing you access to the page
- When you’re finished, click the “Finished” button on the top left of your screen”

but when I do that, it says
“You have chosen to remove an element that is an iframe
Iframes contain pages (just like the one your viewing) meaning that the survey you wish to remove may not be on your current page.
If the part of the screen you just clicked contains the survey and content you want to view, click “OK” to go to that page.
From there just run the XJZ Survey Remover again to remove the survey and view the “premium” content.”

So I do that, only to get
“Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page?
Are you sure you want to leave?
Surveys are quick and easy to fill out, so your download is just seconds away!
Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page.”

pressing ok again gets me to http://survey-remover.com/addon/?source=xjz, pressing cancel makes the entire page (exept the frame) blank

You should go to the site and update your bookmarklet (the page you’re taken to is that of the addon but just find the link to the bookmarklet which is still free). Thus will probably solve the issue. As it says, the new bookmarklet has many updates!
