Samsung Series 7 XE700T1A-A03US tablet Review

Samsung Series 7 XE700T1A-A03US tablet is amazing, it does all the things it promises and even more.

I even notice this 11.6 inch tablet is actually faster and a lot more responsive compared to my high-end gaming laptop.

I saw people still want to compare this product to an Apple iPad 2, well they should not.

This Samsung XE700T1A-A03US is not a multimedia toy that packed with apps as well as widgets, but this is a truly laptop replacement which has notepad’s size . (see this page)

Samsung Series 7 vs Asus EP121 Slate

This tablet actually reminds me of another windows based-tablet, the Asus Eee Slate EP121 (my colleague has it), it really looks identical to the Asus tablet, but it comes with another extra camera which is placed in the back, and instead of “aero” button, this Samsung 11.6 tablet has “Windows” button.

The specs happen to be the same, except this unit has brushed aluminium coating.

The 11.6 inch screen is incredibly clear, vivid and crisp, and 11.6 is smaller than Asus windows tablet (which has 12″ screen), but it doesn’t disappoint me at all.

I have tested with some games on it, and no, they aren’t solitaire games, but I have tested WoW.

The graphics was still clear and very detailed although it wasn’t played with the maximum graphics settings. I was still very pleased by what Samsung A03US can do.

For my office computing needs, this is a very functional device to run your MS Office, or any other office software.

I have also got the keyboard and digitizer pen which are responsive and precise to draw or taking notes.

The unit itself is very thin (only half an inch), so it is very portable, fit perfectly in my bag without being bulky or heavy, it’s really comfortable just to hold it by hand and lightweight to read ebooks or watching movies.

This little beast boots really fast! (around 15 seconds). The speakers is quite good, but I wish it could be a little louder, but this is usual for every built-in speakers I have found, you would want to use headphones because I guess there is none wants to listen my taste in music.

The only downside is the short battery life. For some, $1000 for a tablet is quite costly, and they might just buy a 11″ Macbook Air (yes, they have some hdd size, same 11 inch screen, same 1366 x 768 screen resolution, and same i5 processor).

But I personally decided to buy this Samsung Series 7 tablet rather than Apple MBA, because I work alot with drawing, and I want a powerful device to draw, paint in a real computer in a tablet form factor rather than a full computer.

mind to test it with 3dmark06 and show us the score? im really interested in this laptop/tablet for work use BUT would be nice to be able to play low to mid games like you did with WoW.

Yeah I would like to see the 3dMark06 result too.
Wondering if it would equal to the MacBook Air since their hardware are very similar

You compared the hard drive size to the Asus slate, in comparision, if you know, how is this for drawing? I have heard the Asus does just as good as the Cintiq by Wacom for sketching. I wonder if this is equal? One thing about the Asus is you can rest your hand on the screen and have it “only” pick up the pen (which a digitizer should have that option). Also pressure sensitivity how does the Samsung behave? Thanks

If you have you done any sketching with your colleagues Asus, how does it compare to the Samsung? I have heard and seen that the Asus does just as good with deadspots and recgonition as the Cintiq by Wacom, and actually does better than the Cintiq with colors. Also how is pressure sensitivity…and did you happen to test Sketchbook Pro on the Samsung at all? Thanks :)
