Toshiba L755-S5271 Review

Toshiba L755-S5271 Review – Overview

Toshiba L755-S5271 15.6-Inch laptop features all the things that an i3 Sandybridge powered machine can offer.

I finally bought this machine after reading some reviews, and compared it against other i3 laptops. (Got $80 off here)

After unboxing it, the hardware specifications does seem to meet up the hype, especially the 4GB of RAM and 640 HDD.

Note, with other i3 machines with about $500 price range, they can’t be nearly as robust as this Toshiba L755-S5271.

The included Intel Core i3-2310M Processor actually offers better performance, and it pairs with better quality Intel Graphic processor, reduce the energy consumption better than the very first i3 processor generations, and moreover everything that AMD machines nowadays offer.

I am definitely pleased with the build quality of the Toshiba L755-S5271, not only it has a great matrix looks on the casing, but it is also surprisingly lightweight.

The start up was very easy and quick as I expected, it loaded the pre-installed software, nothing special about the preloaded programs, but you will need a while to find what is all installed in your machine.

The keyboard took a little of getting used as it is a bit compact (there is really tiny or almost no space between its keys), but thankfully the included numeric pad is there, and it did not take long for me to get used to.

Furthermore, the touchpad of Toshiba L755-S5271 is almost hidden that takes the front part of the laptop, I think it is a nice modern style of design, but at first it was quite hard to find.

Toshiba Satellite L755-S5271 Ports!

Once again just like the keyboard, this kind of small issue ended becoming a minor annoyance immediately after around 1/2 an hour because I was familiar with it’s placement without having to search for it.

The display is certainly excellent, crystal clear and the speaker quality is very good for a laptop.

To comment about battery life of this Toshiba Satellite L755-S5271, I gues it is too soon, but roughly, it indicates that it will hold quite long unless the processor works really hard.

Talking about the preinstalled bloatware, I immediately removed a few of the preinstalled programs, as they appear to slow the Windows 7 Operating system noticably.

Then I added my own softwares, and as the result, the machine’s performance is impressive.

This Toshiba L755-S5271 is definitely not a highend gaming laptop, the system’s Intel Graphic is a step ahead than the older Intel Graphics such as the Radeon or nVidia, but to run games intensively, will only slow the system.

I throw WoW(with medium setting), Visual Studio with its addons, and they runs just great.

There is a program called Toshiba webcam, and it was really helpful when I had to test the webcam in the beginning, but after a while, it became very annoying, because it always pops up when I accidentally had my mouse over it. (it is on the left of the screen).
