WordPress Installation by uploading files to webhost and locate wordpress folder in cPanel.
I have made two video tutorials to install wordpress by using a quick install with fantastico and by using ftp programs. Today i will show you how to install wordpress by uploading files. This is actually my favorite way. Because we don’t need ftp programs, or fantastico.
Tips: Choose username and difficult passwords until the password strength show green, it means very strong password :D

Thank you for the terrific video tutorial!!!!
I was able to install WP 3.0.4 through cPanel easily thanks to your very clear instructions. Your videos are the best I have found so far regarding WordPress. You did not assume that a few steps in the middle of the installation were “intuitively obvious” and left them out like a lot of people do.
I haven’t looked through all of your WP videos yet, but I do want to know the following:
1) why would it be good to have WP installed on localhost rather than on server? and
2) If I think it’s a good idea, do you have another video tutorial with clear instructions on how to upload the changes to the server that were made to the localhost WP blog?
Keep up the great work!
Thank you!!!
Hey Merlyn!
Congratulations on your new installed wordpress, you will love it like i do! :-)
1. The good thing to install wp on localhost, is to try everything before you apply online, example, trying plugin, editing functions.php, etc, so when something goes wrong, it won’t effect your online real blog.
Downside, it can only be accessed by YOU, and none else, the purpose is to try.
2. I have made these tutorials:

http://www.blog.web6.org/install-wordpress-locally-windows/

I hope they will help, and thanks so much for your nice words!
Good luck with the new blog as well
Kind regards,
Kimi.
